Wedding Anniversaries: the 7th!

The seventh wedding anniversary is the Copper one. It is an important wedding date although it is not round. Being a good electrical and heat conductor copper is soft and ductile. Thus it is considered that the couple who has managed seven years together have adjusted themselves to one another.

Besides there is a special hidden meaning in the name of the seventh anniversary: copper is a valuable strong metal. It is not a precious metal, of course, so here is a hint that the spouses have much to overcome in future. Certainly, the Copper Anniversary is not the Wooden or Cust-iron one. You won`t tear copper as some cloth, neither will you break it! One can only melt it to give copper some other form or image. Thus the main task for the couple now is to strengthen their relationships, turning them into silver and gold in the future and finally into diamond – the most precious and strongest stone on earth.

Copper is the symbol of wealth in the family so it is common to present some jewelry or home decorations such as sculptures, furniture, or appliances.

Other symbols:
Traditional 7th wedding anniversary gifts are made of Copper or Wool.

A Modern Seventh wedding anniversary symbol is a Desk Set.

The flowers associated with the 7th anniversary are Jack-in-the-pulpit.

Lapis Lazuli and Onyx are associated with this Wedding Anniversary.

When I first met you all those years ago,
I fell in love so fast, I knew right then,
You were the one and only one for me;
I'd never have to look for love again.

Each anniversary finds us happier;
You are my light--my moon, my star, my sun.
You show me what real love is all about,
You fill my life with pleasure, joy and fun.

As time goes by, our love grows stronger still.
You're the most amazing man I ever knew.
I prize our anniversaries because
Each year I fall in love again with you.

  1. This is just fabulous. The post was really interesting to read through. In the last year we had got married at the destination NYC wedding venue and had enjoyed the day thoroughly. Our first anniversary is coming soon and we are planning to make this day memorable.
